Nanotube Masterbatches
The Compounds out of the CPM®-Portfolio

The CPM® products are highly filled carbon nanotube masterbatches with loadings up to 30% by weight.

The CPM® are used by our customers to make their own dilution or/and add additional additives to create special products. A minimal amount of the masterbatch is utilized in thermoplastic applications, which maintains or significantly improves the basic characteristics of polymers.

Depending on the type of application, the desired level of surface conductivity and mechanical properties of the final product, 10% to 40% by weight of the masterbatch is recommended. In order to get the full performance out of the CNT it is absolutely necessary to avoid agglomerates and disperse the bundle of carbon nanotubes properly in the polymer matrix. To achieve a homogeneous mixture a minimum processing length of 40D is recommended.

CPM® masterbatches are available in all common technical polymers as well polyolefins.

Percolation of CNT

As show in the following diagram a small amount of CNT loading is sufficient to reach a surface resistivity level of 10E9 Ohm. The range in the percolation curve reflects the minimum and maximum value which can be achieved.
